What is the Placebo Blog?

Welcome to the Placebo Blog, a website where McMaster medical students can express themselves. From personal reflections and clinical experiences to creative writing and opinion pieces – there are no limits. As McMaster MD students, you have now begun the ride of your lifetimes … and we want to hear about it!

You see, we do things a little differently at McMaster: tests have no marks, learning is fueled by inquiry, and feedback is our motto. The three year program is fast-paced and intense, filled with thrills, unforgettable experiences, and great challenges. It is a petri dish for fascinating writing. Whether it be a reflection or a poem, writing helps us to make sense of the world around us, shaping our perspectives as future physicians.

And most of all … it’s fun!

Take a moment to browse through past entries or send us your own submission. We would love to hear from you!

Your editors,
Giuliana Guarna and Patrick Kim
